*cpa files so it can be used to check the import worked. The viewer can open both binary *.pcb and CADSTAR PCB Archive. There is a free CADSTAR Design Viewer available here (needs to register with an email address). This is exported from the CADSTAR "self teaching" tutorial and is a fairly complete design: Chapter_11_- 2019.0-_rev21.cpa I attach a file that can be used for testing purposes.
However, CADSTAR has the option of exporting a binary *.pcb file to a CADSTAR PCB Archive *.cpa file, which is a much simpler file format to parse as it an ASCII format based on S-expressions. This merge request is for a CADSTAR PCB Archive importer for pcbnew, while trying to be forward thinking and consider a future CADSTAR Schematic Archive importer that might reuse some of the code.ĬADSTAR's working format for PCBs is a binary *.pcb file, which would require time to reverse engineer and likely incomplete for a long time.
